Download and Install the imSMART App (for Android)

This article provides detailed instructions about how to download, install, and set up the Android version of the imSMART application.

Generally speaking, you will follow these basic steps:

1. Set your Password.
2. Download and Install the App.
3. Log in to the App.
4. Sync Your Device.

1. Set Your Password

To begin using the imSMART application, you will first need to activate your User Account by choosing a password. *If you already have an account set up, please disregard the set password steps. 

1. Open the New User Welcome Email that you received.
   • Generally speaking, the email will be titled "Please activate your (Company Name) user account." 
     
     
2. Find the sentence that contains a "Click Here" link (shown below), which enables you to create your password.... then click on the link. 
   
   
   
   
3. A new tab will open in your browser to display a password reset form.
4. Enter the password that you would like to use, then enter it again.
   
   
   
   
5. Click the Submit button.

Your User Account is now active, and you can download and install the application.

2. Download and Install the Application

To download the application, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Google Play Store and search for "imSMART" (or use the customized search term that was requested by your company).
2. Tap on the green Install button.
   
   
   
   
3. The app will download and self-install.
4. Tap on the Open button.

2. Log in to the Application

Once the app has been installed, click the green Open button and a Registration Screen will appear (as shown below, at the lower left).

• If you already have a User Account, you can skip the Registration Form, as shown in Step 1 below.
• If you do not have a User Account, you can use the Registration Form to create one.

Assuming you already have a User Account, follow these steps to log in:

1. At the bottom of your screen, tap on the blue link that says "Already registered? Sign In".
   
   
   
   
2. Enter your email address then tap on the Continue button. 
   
   
   
   
3. Enter your password and tap Sign In.
   
   
   
   

The application will log you in and bring you to the Update tab. (If not, click on Updates at the top of the imSMART application.)

4. Sync your Device

Once you have logged in, you will need to sync your device to download your files.

• A Sync enables you to download all of the files provided by your company.
• When the files change in the future, the imSMART app will help you keep everything synced.

To perform the sync, follow these steps:

1. Using the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap on Updates > Content Sync.
   
   
   
   
2. Tap on the Yes button.
   
   
   
   
3. The application will run through a series of updates.
   • This process can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the number of files that you have access to. 
     
     
     
     
4. When the sync is finished, tap Ok.
   
   

In the future, you will visit the Updates tab periodically to update (and sync) the Asset content for your device.
