Auto Thumbnail Generator

About the Thumbnail Generator

The thumbnail generator feature creates a thumbnail icon image (200x200px) of the first page for the following asset types xls, xlsx, xlsm, doc, docx, pdf, pptx, ppt, csv, txt, png, jpg, tif, gif, mp4, mov, m4v. This feature does not work for folders.

To use this feature, when editing or creating an asset, select "Thumbnail Images" from the left navigation menu and check the "Generate Thumbnail from Asset" box:

Note: This feature will only work if there has never been a thumbnail image added manually in the system. If no image is uploaded, the default image based on asset type will be used. Checking the box after an asset has been uploaded, will apply the auto-generated thumbnail, which can take up to 24 hours.
