Important Note: Shared Groups is a premium feature and not available on all imSMART platforms. Please contact your app administrator if you are unsure if this feature is available.
Have you ever wondered how other users of your app are grouping content for display to their customers? Or how some of the top sales representatives are successfully beating out the competition with content in your app?
Shared groups is a great way to build community within your app and gives users a way to share the groups they've created and highlight key product document sets with the aim of more collaborative sales success.
Note: A community is all of the users within the segment that the content is located in.
To create a shared group, simply create a group or basket just like you always do, then tap the action icon in the upper-right corner. Select “Share to community” in the menu that appears.
Type a message to your community of users that best describes your shared group. The app automatically pushes a notification out to other users in your community. That’s it.
To "unshare" one of your groups, tap the action icon again, then select “Unshare from community.” The app automatically removes your group from view in the user community.
Viewing shared groups from other users is very easy. Simply navigate to the groups screen using the groups icon in the menu bar at the bottom of your app. Then tap on “Shared Groups” in the upper-left corner of the screen. You’ll see a list of groups shared by other users in your community. Tap the name of the user and you’ll see the groups that have been shared by that user.
You can edit the contents of a shared group by opening that group then tapping on the action icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Select “Show in my groups” from the menu that appears.
Then navigate back to “My Groups” from the groups screen where you’ll see the groups you’ve created and the ones you’ve added from other users in the community.
You can then remove, sort or add items to these groups as you wish. Keep in mind, that if you modify a shared group, you will not longer receive updates from the creator of that shared group.
